49-th International Trade Fair "Fashion industry", was held from 16 to 19 March 2017 in St. Petersburg Sports and Concert complex, represented more than 200 leading Russian and foreign companies. Organizer- FarEXPO company.

The exhibitors will present current seasonal collections 2017/2018 and favorite classics. Exposition of the Fair was very bright and colorful as spring. During this edition the assortment was wider, buyers could see more lines of ready-made garments. The exhibition presents all directions of light and textile industry – from raw materials and equipment to finished products (clothes, shoes, accessories, etc.). Man’s suits were presented by 3 leading factories in Russia- “Slavyanka” from Pskov, “Sudar’” from Vladimir region, “Alexandria” from Krasnodar. This spring 25 companies from Belorussia showed their collections of readymade garments, shoes, leather goods at the Fair as well. Such companies as Magnolica (Latvia), Tanex (Romania), Fashion House Natalia Gradova (St.Petersburg), Condra (Belorussia), “Stilnye Neposedy” (St.Petersburg), “Zhlobino’s garment factory” participated for the first time.

“Trud” company from St.Petersburg presented their new line of production- design studio. Many companies decided to resume their work at the Fashion Industry exhibition after the long break. They are “Slavyanka” garment factory from Psov, Spinning-thread Combine the name of Kirov, “Melana” Trade House from St.Petersburg.

Marina Dudareva ( Head of wholesale department of “Alexandria” company): “We are looking for buyers. We have just started researching of the North-West Region of Russia. But we have felt already interest in our products, both in men’s suit and children school uniform. First contracts were signed at the Fashion Industry exhibition. In general, I must mention, that the Fair’s level gets higher annually- big companies and industry’s specialist participate the even, professional work of organizers.”

Fashion Industry Trade Fair attracts attention of specialists and professionals of the branch from all over the world- about 6000 professional visitors attended the event, negotiated with exhibitors, signed contracts. Chisco García, Manager of Sourcing & Sustainability at INDITEX-OYSHO: “I represent The Inditex corporation, which includes such brands as Zara, Bershka, Oysho, Stradivarius and others. Here, in St.Petersburg’s exhibition I am looking for manufactures, where our company could place an order to sew our clothes and after sell it worldwide.”

Daily fashion shows help wholesale buyers to pick up the necessary range and sign contracts directly at the exhibition.

The business program based on the topics relevant to the fashion industry. Economic Forum of Fashion Industry is a universal platform for dialogue among industry professionals. The Forum was opened by specialized conference "St. Petersburg - the centre of the fashion and light industry" (moderator Roman Gerasimov). Over 150 specialists reiterated to this discussion. 100 best works in the categories of Costume, textiles, Graphic design presented to the professional audience and the jury of the International Competition of young designers "Generation NEXT". For the second time in the Competition organized showroom where young designers learn the opinions of consumers about their collections and, in practice, using theoretical knowledge to promote their products. The winner at Costume nominee has become Xenia Permyakova, at Textiles nominee – Anastasia Ivanova, at Graphic design nominee- Olga Dobrovolskaya.

At the job Fair "Valuable resource for fashion industry" the visitors have the opportunity to leave the application for the vacancy or post a resume. Partners of the exhibition – Fashion Jobs portal will help to choose the dream job or internship in all areas of fashion.

On 16 and 17 March 2017 - the exhibition is open only for professional buyers and industry professionals; 18 and 19 March 2017 - for professionals and the General public. During 4 days of the Trade Fair there were 11 605 visitors, 53% of them were specialists and professionals.

The next edition of the Fashion Industry exhibition is going to be from 28 September till 1 October 2017.
