50-th International Trade Fair "Fashion industry" was held from 28 September till 1 October 2017 in St. Petersburg Sports and Concert complex. It was the biggest b2b event of the industry in North-West region of Russia.
It was an anniversary Trade Fair celebrated 25 years at the market. Because of this many government members gather together at the exhibition. Among them the Vice-governor of St. Petersburg, who welcomed all guests during ceremony of opening from the main stage. He mentioned that exhibition was the unique platform for professionals where they can meet and discuss the most important problems, exchange their experience and find the way how to present their product at Russian market and abroad. Special performance for all guests were prepared by opera singer Natalie Orlie together with the fashion show by TM Truvor and DIDI.
Fashion Industry International Trade Fair represented more than 200 leading companies from 14th countries. About 30% of exhibitors presented their collection for the first time. Annually many factories from Belorussia participated the fair, this year there were many new exhibitors among them as well. The exhibitors presented current seasonal collections 2017/2018 and favorite classics. The assortment was wider, buyers could see more lines of ready-made garments. The exhibition presents all directions of light and textile industry – from raw materials and equipment to finished products (clothes, shoes, accessories, etc.).
Daily fashion shows help wholesale buyers to pick up the necessary range and sign contracts directly at the exhibition.
The business program based on the topics relevant to the fashion industry. Economic Forum of Fashion Industry is a universal platform for dialogue among industry professionals. The Forum was opened by specialized conference "St. Petersburg - the centre of the fashion and light industry. Synergetic Effect" (moderator Roman Gerasimov). Over 150 specialists reiterated to this discussion. Also in the program of Economic Forum of Fashion Industry educational seminars, trainings, master-classes.
97 best works in the categories of Costume, Textiles, Graphic design presented to the professional audience and the jury of the International Competition of young designers "Generation NEXT". All projects were made by students from 20 Universities from Russia and abroad. The winner of Costume nominee – Olga Matuhina- has become a laureate of Russian National Prize of fashion industry.
At the job Fair "Valuable resource for fashion industry" the visitors had the opportunity to leave the application for the vacancy or post a resume. Partners of the exhibition – Fashion Jobs portal helped to choose the dream job or internship in all areas of fashion.
On 28 and 29 September - the exhibition was open only for professional buyers and industry professionals; 30 September and 1 October - for professionals and the General public. During 4 days of the Trade Fair there were 9 344 visitors, 53% of them were specialists and professionals.
The next edition of the Fashion Industry exhibition is going to be from 1 till 4 March 2018.
